Bronze

Bronze is a metal alloy, typically 88% copper and 12% tin. The ancient development of bronze made possible harder and more durable tools, weapons, and building materials, and gave its name to the Bronze Age. Some of the earliest examples come from Iran and Iraq, China, Japan, Greece and Rome.

Bronze is widely used for cast bronze sculptures, expanding slightly just before it sets to fill in the finest details of a mold. International artisans from India to Africa (Benin) to Europe (Greece) and Asia (China) continue to create art objects of bronze.
